Post delivery care is one of the most important periods in a woman's health cycle. Your body's pre-pregnancy symptoms of high/low blood pressure, anemia, asthma, being easily fatigued, waist/ back pains to changes to your body shape such as tummy protrusion or period cramps are all areas to look for improvement from correct post delivery care.
There is a saying that a baby's birth is also the re-birth of the mother's body, and this statement is very correct! As long as you take the proper lifestyle adjustments and food intake guidelines, in essence, the more children you have the more radiant you will be! |

The importance of post delivery care |
|
| |
In recent studies of post delivery care in western medicine, they presented a study where without proper post partum rest and care, the new mother's body does not recover as easily, she will easily have symptoms of sore breasts, hair loss, constipation (five in one), other symptoms include fatigue, excessive sweating, loss of appetite, acne, low immune system reactions, etc. Thus, despite the difference between eastern and western worlds, in BOTH cultures, proper rest, food and nutrition is essential to correct post delivery care. Its also an area of expertise that has been studied by medical professionals, not just based on Chinese folklore or myth, passed down from generation to generation. |

Sequential Phase Menu- A Critical Element in Post Delivery Recovery |
|
| |
¡uIn Chinese tradition, after a woman gives birth, she experiences one month of post delivery care and nourishment. During this period, certain lifestyle adjustments are made, such as not touching cold water, not taking showers, washing hair, or drinking water for an entire month! However more importantly, proper nourishment must be taken into consideration for the recovery of the woman's uterus, expulsion of discharge, keeping slim and prevention from aging. A concept understood and accepted in Chinese communities, literally translated of ¡§doing the month¡¨, or post delivery care has been a long time tradition that has developed close associations with Chinese medicinal herbal drinks and soups prepared by the mother-in-law.
In terms of food and nutrition, the post delivery mother is fatigued and weak from the birth process. Traditionally family members may scurry to cook up a wokful of nutritious sesame oil chicken, however we need to consider after birth, the post delivery mother's digestive system is not strong enough to digest nor to absorb all the rich nutrients that are in sesame oil chicken. This is why there is a ¡§sequential phase menu¡¨ particularly suited for post delivery care mothers.
This concept stems from first expelling the body's excess blood and discharge, then slowly replenish your blood and energy, while at the same time not gaining too much weight and helping the uterus recover back to its original size.¡v |

The ¡§sequential phase menu¡¨ is especially designed to attain the best post delivery results and recovery. Dishes are prepared with three crucial ingredients: sesame oil, rice wine and aged ginger and absolutely no salt or artificial seasoning. Here are some key points:
Week 1 menu design: Focuses on expelling discharge and water levels in the body, also helping the uterus recover to its original size. This is also the ideal time to recover body weight. Here, our main dish include pig liver and traditional post partum drink.
Week 2 menu design: Centers on easing waist and back pains and preventing post partum waist and back pains via pig kidneys and Chinese medicinal broth with Eucommia Bark.
Week 3~4 menu design: Focuses on replenishing blood, ¡§chi¡¨ or energy levels, prevention from aging and improving circulation. Here, our main dish is black sesame oil chicken and Chinese medicinal broths.
Post Partum Herbal Care
Using Chinese medicine for recovery during post partum care is essential for successful and complete recovery. As a result of their findings, W Group's R&D have developed 64 herbal recipies that have been tailored for ideal results, taste, safety and suitability to different body types of new mothers. The concept behind our herbal recipies follows alongside our nutritional guidelines as mentioned before, so a new mother experiences a truly holistic food/ nutritional intake with foods and Chinese medicinal broths that complement each other in the ¡§Sequential Phase menu¡¨
Amongst these remedies are our W Post partum herbal care series and our post partum tailor made recipies. Thus, at W Group, a new mother doesn¡¦t need to purchase dietary supplements or extra products during her post partum care period. 1 key point: Controlling Water intake |
|
| |
The average weight gain for pregnant women is 12 kg up to gestation. After the birth process, where do these 12 kg go? The infant takes up approximately 5 kg, and of the remaining 7 kg, water takes up to 4 kg or so. This is why when our body is so full of extra water weight, our motto during post delivery care is not to drink too much water. This doesn¡¦t mean of course not to take any liquids. At W Group, we offer various drinks to help rid excess water especially during the first two weeks to help with recovery of body weight. For more information on W Group's post delivery drink list, please visit our product page. |

2 key point: Sticking to a Sequential phase menu |
|
| |
As mentioned before, our concept of a sequential phase menu is to help our various goals that our body can afford and is ready to undertake in the recovery process. For more information, please email us at service@wgroup.com.tw. |

3 key point: Post partum exercise and silhouette wrap. |
|
| |
For those who are keen on regaining their pre-pregnancy body shape and figure, pay close attention. A must during post partum is to use our W Silhouette wrap daily. This may seem like a simple piece of cloth but its results are excellent, it can prevent you from having a tummy, reduce stretch marks, help your skin recover its elasticity, etc. For more information, please visit our products page. |

4 key point: Breastfeed, Breastfeed, Breastfeed |
|
| |
At W Group, we are always supporters of breastfeeding, not only for the baby's health, but because breast milk is nature's greatest gift and irreplaceable by any other product. At the same time, there are many advantages for the mother, helping a new mother bond with her baby, help her recover her energy and is a natural ¡§dieting¡¨ process. Breastfeeding has also shown to help reduce breast cancer rates. At W Group, we believe there just are no substitutes for breast feeding.
